WINNER BIO

Dr. Suvasini Lakshmanan completed her medical school training at Jawaharlal Institute of Postgraduate Medical Education & Research, India and Internal Medicine residency at the University of Massachusetts.

She earned a Master of Science in Clinical and Translational Research at Brown University School of Public Health. Thereafter, she completed her Advanced Imaging/Cardiac CT fellowship at the Lundquist Institute at Harbor UCLA. She is currently a first year cardiology fellow-in-training at University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics, United States.

Dr. Lakshmanan’s research interests are primarily in the intersection of cardiac imaging/cardiac CT and cardiovascular prevention. She has presented her research at the European Society of Cardiology, American Heart Association, American College of Cardiology and Society of Cardiac CT meetings. Dr. Lakshmanan currently serves on the board of the American Society of Preventive Cardiology as a FIT representative. She has served as the ACC FIT Editorial Fellow for Women in Cardiology and is an active member of the AHA FIT programming committee and FiRST committee with SCCT.

Dr. Lakshmanan is passionate about personal development and life coaching. She is a certified life coach, with a focus on purpose-based coaching, and is committed to exploring the role of life coaching in leadership development and academic medicine. She hopes to work with Women as One platform to further the vision of empowering women in cardiology.
