Cecilia is originally from Argentina, where she did her medical studies at the University of Buenos Aires, and her pediatric training in the Gutierrez Children’s Hospital. She underwent further training in pediatric cardiology and electrophysiology at Children’s Hospital of Boston.

After finishing her training, she moved with her family to Belgium where she set the basis to develop the first Pediatric Electrophysiology Program in Belgium at Clinique St Luc, the Catholic University Hospital in Brussels and UZ Antwerp. During her time in Belgium, she worked on her PhD studying Brugada Syndrome in the young under the mentoring of Professor Pedro Brugada. She completed these studies in 2017.

From 2018 to 2022, Cecilia took the position of Lead of Pediatric Electrophysiology at Bristol Royal Hospital for Children, where she supported the pediatric electrophysiology and inherited cardiac conditions expertise in the southwest UK. During this period, she completed a 3-year Master in Genomics focus in Cardio-genomics at Imperial University in London and built the basis for a Pediatric Brugada International Registry.

She has recently relocated to Montreal where she holds the clinical position of Lead of Pediatric Electrophysiology at Sainte Justine Hospital, and a professor and research position at University of Montreal.

Her focus is on excellence of care towards her patients including the development of the inherited cardiac condition expertise in the region. One of her passions is teaching and mentoring younger colleagues, as she feels this is the path to transmit the knowledge and experience she herself received from her different teachers and mentors, and thus contribute to society.
