Following the release of The Making of a Heart Attack documentary, Women As One has brought leading women’s voices together, in partnership with Amgen, a 2025 Corporate Member, to extend the conversation into the clinical sphere. While the documentary focuses on the patient perspective, this webcast centers on LDL-C, reducing CV Risk and heart attack prevention from a clinical standpoint. It serves as an important complement to the film, offering a deeper dive into the science behind cardiovascular risk and heart attack prevention strategies.
The webcast was moderated by Dr. Benziger, a participant in our 2024 CLIMB Clinical Skills Training Program, supported by Amgen. It also features Dr. Collins, whose expertise on LDL-C and heart disease was highlighted in the documentary, creating a direct bridge between patient stories and clinical insight. It also includes Tara, one of the patients featured in the film, providing a powerful opportunity to bring both perspectives together in one discussion. At Women As One, we are committed to elevating leading women’s voices within cardiovascular care. This webcast reflects that commitment by advancing a dialogue that benefits both clinicians and patients in reducing CV risk.
All resources referenced in the webcast, designed to support both patients and physicians, are available below for ease of access.

Reducing the number of heart attacks and strokes in the U.S. can only be accomplished by working together. Amgen responded to the advocacy community’s call to bring authentic patient stories to life and showcase the realities of cardiovascular events, aiming to inspire people to take proactive steps for heart health.
That resulted in The Making of a Heart Attack documentary featuring pro-football legend Barry Sanders, Tara Robinson (CEO, Black Heart Association), Hyvelle Ferguson-Davis (Founder, Heart Sistas), Gigi Campos (WomenHeart Champion) and her father, Ponciano Gari, with medical perspective from Dr. Sara Collins (Member, Association of Black Cardiologists). The film highlights personal stories, the link between cardiovascular disease and high LDL cholesterol, and the importance of knowing your LDL-C level—driving viewers to take action in turn reducing CV risk.
