Welcome to 2025! We are ready to get started on another year of exciting programs and projects at Women As One. We’ve set ambitious goals this year as we look to move the organization to its next phase of development. The work we do aims to promote the many talented women in the field of cardiology. Through our programs, grants and partnerships, we work to elevate women’s career success and match their qualifications with a growing number of partner organization opportunities. As we set out into a year of growth, we wanted to share some of our short- and long-term goals with you.
Our programs are the driving force behind what we do. In 2025, you can expect more opportunities to learn, connect and find resources to support your career. We will offer three new CLIMB Clinical training topics: Cardiomyopathies, Structural Interventions and Complex Cases in Interventional Cardiology. Later this year, we will also announce new CLIMB training programs we are working on. We’ll offer grant opportunities across an increasing number of funding organizations as we continue our Mentorship Awards and CVCT Research Scholar Awards, and we can’t wait to share the details of RISE 2025 with you soon.
This year will see big investments in the future of Women As One. We will revitalize our Talent Directory database, improving its utility and user experience. If you are registered in the Talent Directory, it is vital to keep your profile up to date as the database is quickly gaining traction as the go-to source for organizations looking to bring more talented women into their professional fold.
We’ll continue our work in the world of research, helping trial organizers identify more women to serve on their leadership committees and as investigators and will provide training opportunities to women interested in gaining experience in these areas. Our work will extend into trial design and execution as we look to build the collective understanding of how to successfully enroll and retain more women into trials, further exploring the gender connection between physicians and their patients. This work will require in-depth partnerships across all stakeholder groups, including trial sponsors, academic and professional organizations, clinical researchers, patient advocacy groups and of course, patients themselves.
Finally, 2025 will see new leadership take the helm at Women As One. We are actively in the process of searching for a Chief Executive Officer through Sterling Martin Associates and look forward to bringing additional leadership on to our already exceptionally strong team. We will also welcome a new member to our Board of Directors – Dr. Pamela Douglas. Our strengthened leadership will help further our mission and vision, bringing our global growth strategies forward.
The work of pushing for gender equity in cardiology is complex and ongoing. It’s also innovative and exciting, and we look forward to connecting with all of you across the year as we continue our journey to advance healthcare.
