Event Date – December 7 2026, 2-4pm ET

Cardiovascular disease (CVD) in women evolves across the lifespan, shaped by reproductive biology, hormonal transitions, and social and environmental influences. A life-course framework highlights pregnancy and menopause as two critical points where cardiovascular risk is either revealed or accelerated. These windows provide important opportunities for early detection, targeted prevention, and improved clinical trial design. However, significant gaps persist, including the underrepresentation of pregnant and perimenopausal women in trials, limited randomized evidence, and a lack of longitudinal studies that track risk across decades.
Reframing lifespan transitions as strategic opportunities for detection and intervention can enable a proactive, lifespan-based approach to prevention and improve cardiovascular outcomes.
Date and time: December 7, 2-4pm ET
Location: Global CVCT Forum, The Mayflower Hotel, Washington DC
The Global CVCT Forum brings together the people shaping cardiovascular clinical trials, including clinicians, researchers, patients and advocates, regulators, industry, statisticians, methodologists, journal editors, and other stakeholders. The meeting takes a multidisciplinary, discussion-led approach to clinical trial science, focusing on major trials, evidence generation, regulation, methodology, and translating research into better patient care.
A global meeting dissecting individual trial results, in the context of adjacent trials, in expert think tank debates.
Join Malissa J. Wood, MD, Women As One's Chief Medical Officer, in her breakout session during the Women’s Heart Health Summit.
Women's HealthX is set to change the future of women's health through data, science, and evidence-based innovation.
