Global innovation in women’s cardiovascular health in the 2026 Femtech World Awards

Women As One is pleased to announce the sponsorship of the Cardiovascular Health Innovation award at the 2026 Femtech World Awards. This new category was introduced this year at the suggestion of Women As One to raise awareness of women’s cardiovascular health and to celebrate innovators whose work is transforming care, improving outcomes, and advancing equity for women worldwide.

Why This Matters

Cardiovascular disease remains the leading cause of death for women globally, yet symptoms, risk factors, diagnostics, and outcomes are under-researched or poorly understood in women.

At Women As One, we are committed to elevating women in cardiology through professional development, mentorship, research support, and visibility (learn more about how we support women physicians here). Our goal is to increase the number of women cardiologists leading or contributing to innovations in cardiovascular health, and to ensure that women benefit from advances in diagnostics, treatment, and prevention. This award helps further that goal by:

  • Spotlighting innovations focused on women’s needs in cardiovascular care.
  • Encouraging more investment and development in this critical area.
  • Creating role models and momentum for others aiming to solve inequities in cardiovascular disease.

About the Award

The Cardiovascular Health Innovation award will recognise groundbreaking advances that are redefining prevention, diagnosis, and treatment in women’s cardiovascular health. Areas of innovation such as:

  • Wearable monitoring
  • AI-driven diagnostics
  • Breakthrough therapies
  • Telehealth and remote care
  • Community-based models of care

Special emphasis will be placed on advances that improve early detection in women, enhance quality of life, and advance equity for underserved populations. Innovations selected for this award will be those that are saving lives and shaping the future of cardiovascular care for women.

By recognizing innovation in this field, we hope to accelerate progress toward equity in cardiovascular health and ensure that women everywhere benefit from groundbreaking advances in care.

Call for Innovators

If you are working on an innovation in women’s cardiovascular health, whether a new diagnostic tool, wearable technology, AI model, therapeutic intervention, community care model, telehealth program, or something else, we encourage you to apply. Your work could help redefine the standard of care and save lives.

You can submit your entry and find full details of the criteria and process via the Femtech World Awards website. Don’t miss the deadline of March 14, 2026. We look forward to celebrating innovations that are shaping the future of women’s cardiovascular health.

“We are delighted to sponsor the new ‘Cardiovascular Health Innovation of the Year’ award at the 2026 Femtech World Awards. Cardiovascular disease is the leading cause of death for women, yet too often women’s symptoms, needs, and outcomes are overlooked. By recognizing innovation in this field, we hope to accelerate progress toward equity in cardiovascular health and ensure that women everywhere benefit from groundbreaking advances in care.” – Dr Roxana Mehran, MD, Founding Director of Women As One & Board Member.

Impact on Women’s Cardiovascular Health

Studies have shown a correlation between physician-patient gender concordance and patient outcomes, and at Women As One, we believe that the more women in cardiology, the better this will be for women’s heart health. Sponsoring this award aligns with our work to drive attention, funding, and recognition toward cardiovascular health innovations specifically for women.

By launching and supporting this award, we hope to see more innovations, more visibility, and more progress in women’s cardiovascular health. Together, we can ensure breakthroughs are not just possible but realized and implemented for every woman.

  • The Femtech World Awards are now open for entries here.
