WINNER BIO

I am a Cuban-born Clinical Cardiologist, with an interest in pursuing advanced training in cardiovascular imaging. I graduated from the University of Medical Sciences of Havana in 2012, followed by two years of Internal Medicine Fellowship and three years of Cardiology. I did my community service working with incarcerated patients, and I am currently working as a volunteer doctor in South Africa.

My life mission is to fight against cardiovascular diseases. I firmly believe that we can change the future of cardiovascular health with curiosity, motivation and creativity.
My areas of interest include cardiovascular research, heart failure and preventive care.
Although my priority is to work to improve patients’ health, I try to be an ambassador of cardiovascular prevention by implementing behavioural science techniques in the workplace and encouraging healthy habits and the practice of physical activity in the community as well.

I am a member of the American College of Cardiology and the European Society of Cardiology. I was selected to participate in the second cohort of the reviewer mentoring program of the JACC case report and CLIMB research 2022. I serve as a reviewer for JACC advances and Mexico Cardiology Archives.
